Some people are just stupid!

There is a local sports shooting store in our town called Panhandle Shooting Sports. It is a few doors down from the gym we go to, and Eric has gone in there a few times just to browse around, and keep an eye out for a gun I have my eye on ;o)

Well, one of the guys he works with went to this store last week and asked for something specific for the M1 he just purchased and the guy said he was out, so he asked for another accessory and the guy behind the counter replied, "we've run out of everything since that n***** is about to take office." He was floored by this response and told that guy that he didn't know who he was and that especially as a business owner that it was completely uncalled for. A guy came from the back of the store and told this "customer" that they didn't need his business.

I saddens me that people are so ignorant. Regardless of my feeling about the political standings of President-elect Obama, I have always judged him solely on his voting record and stance on very specific issues. I don't think he is a horrible person at all, I just disagree with some of his views. We can't all agree with everyone!!

To judge people based on race, really, have we not evolved past this yet? This not only makes me sad, but makes me angry! I would be so upset if others were to judge my intelligence, personality, compassion, etc based on the fact that I am a white female.

I just hope these kinds of people choose not to spread their ignorance and hate to their offspring.

It amazes me how much prejudism and racism still exists.

I think it is situations like this that really show us just how much we as society need to work on. I may not agree with our new Pres. views but he still deserves our respect as a human being.

I totally agree with you. That is absolutely uncalled for. It make me sad also to hear such horrible, hateful things. I hope you don't give that store any more of your business.

Unreal. It's really sad that those ideas and thoughts are not only still out there but propagated by people.

Nice. It's hard to believe that in 2009 there are still people out there that think that way.

Sadly a lot of it does trickle down. I mean, where do these people learn to think like that, from their parent's who learned it from theirs.

I remember I was listening to the radio the other day and heard how these two children were just taken away from their parents. Their names were Adolf Hitler and Aryan Nation. All the hatred that exists: it's absolutely disgusting.

Mary, you know that I am in opposition to everything the president elect stands for, and do fear for this country; however, that being said, I am in shock that any child of God would behave in such a manner expecially regarding the color of his skin. I am disheartened that anyone is truly that ignorant!

Oh my gosh!! And the store owner backed this guy UP?!! That is just disgusting. It is so sad that people still act this way. They are the reason some people think everyone outside of their own race is prejudiced and we aren't, or the majority of us aren't! Ugghhh that is so wrong!

Some people will never change. And unfortunately, ignorance is contagious.

Its a sad thing that a lot of racism does get passed down to children. I was in an interracial relationship when my daughter was a toddler and her father liked to send her home with new nicknames for my boyfriend... Luckily my daughter listened to me doesn't see color as an issue. She loves people for who they are. :)

That just makes me sick! I once had a friend who told me that she couldn't accept who my husband was so I told her I could no longer accept her friendship. It's unreal.

I am glad to hear that there are people out there that share my respect for human life, regardless of race. Let's all hope that some day this respect will spread also!
