Sling or Wrap?

Since I'm not working, and have extra time to think, I'm trying to prepare myself for many different scenarios. As many of you know, Eric doesn't have a normal schedule, and one thing that worries me is dealing with both babies at church. Also, we've had some unexpected costs (like Koa's vet visit), and there are certain things, like a double stroller, that we are going to wait to purchase until they are really needed. So, I've decided that for church I'll probably bring in one carrier and have the other baby in a sling or wrap...but which one, I'm still very torn.
So, if you have used one please let me know your opinion. I know that either one can accommodate twins until they reach about 4-6 months, and then you can wear two slings 'Rambo style' as one website describes.

I really don't care about designer colors because although babies are the new & hottest accessory, I've never been one too focused on accessorizing an outfit!

So, any ideas?? Also, is there anything that you have used that is a 'must have' or you really wished you had?

I would suggest both and see what you like more. How about this, you get a sling and I will send you a wrap. :) That way you can decide which works best for you.

I am all about the wrap. I love it and could not live without it. But, I don't have twins, so...ya know. :)

A friend of mine with twins just brought the stroller along to church... Some people just love to carry and snuggle the little tykes when they wlk around- I myself always found that if I didn't have to carry them it was better for my back- even with the fancy or not so fancy carriers, wraps, or slings. And I would suggest getting some of those nice young women to help you out when hubbie's not home. Our laurel class takes turns rotating around helping mommies with kids who's husbands can't sit with them for whatever reason. Good Luck!

I've never used either, but to me, wraps *look* safer. But that's just me. The Rambo style thing, gave me an audible giggle.

well my friend that used a wrap likes that it gives a new born the neck support it needs while it's still very young. But sometime when I was watching her put her little guy in the wrong it can get a little tricky, especially if you're dealing with two. I suggest you do what Michelle said.

As a mom of singletons, here is my experience:
Never used anything with Kieran but my arms.
I used a ling with Alex, but it didn't feel safe or give me both hands free.
I use a Moby Wrap with Isaac and I will never go back to a sling! I can have use of both hands!
IMHO, wraps are safer.
Try out both and see which you like better!

I used a sling with JaydeeBear because it was so much easier to push Josh in a single stroller and carry her in a sling then it was to try to fit a double stroller down most store isles. I think the sling I used couldn't be used for smaller babies... I think they had to be able to sit up on their own, so make sure you check into that. Never used a wrap, so not much help there.

I didn't use either, so no help there. I bought a VERY expensive swing for Bella which she would not sit in, at all!!! I found the ones that went from side to side, were much better than the back and forth ones.

I have both. I use each in different situations. The sling is easier for me at church (easier for me to get in and out of for nursing). The MOby wrap for when I need more hands free. Go with Michelle's suggestions, you'll find out which one works better for you.

I used a wrap years ago. It was great for one! Now I am juggling two three year olds. They are almost as big as I am!
There is a reason that I got these girls late in the "season," I don't think I could have worked two bottles at the same time!
God Bless You!

Darn that Kristina...she beat me to the "peekaru" comment! :)
Sorry, I am no help. I didn't use either of those but good luck and I hope it goes well!

Michelle, I just ordered the wrap that I wanted to try, so I guess we'll see.

And, I just saw the peekaru...it's really really creepy!

I didn't use either one. When I would babysit twins though and would go out I would often have one in my arms and one in the carseat. It gets super tricky between diaper bags etc...
I do have a very big opinion on strollers though. Even though they are long and hard to get around in some stores....I would go with the one in front and one in back stroller. The side by side is almost impossible to get in and out of lots of different doors. Especially alone.
Also, at least temporarily look into one of the car seat stroller frames. You just snap any stroller into the frame and there you go. They tend to be a little cheaper than full on strollers. Also look into local twins clubs. You might be able to get someones hand me downs super cheap. I know lots of women who have gotten really great stuff that way. Call WIC or I can look around for you to find a local twins club.

I used them both....and liked them each the same. It is really mommy preference. Find a children's consignment shop...and they have them in Ft. Walton...you can pick up strollers and all the big ticket items for a song and dance.

We also have a nice consignment shop just for babies and maternity stuff downtown across from Guglielmos, and also one on the corner of PJ Adams and 85. :)

They let me try on both at the store and I liked the sling better...seemed to last longer too. JIMO.

Good luck!
