How time flies!!

On Tuesday I realized that I had signed up to work on the boys 1st birthday! I was in Arizona visiting my dad when I signed up for shifts, and I had other things on my mind. I'm lucky that the schedule JUST came out, and my shift can be covered!!

Where did the last year go?? The boys are now 10 months old! Carter has been walking for about 2 weeks and Cooper is crawling just as fast as Carter. They both have their bottom 2 front teeth, and start smacking their lips whenever they see you have food.

So, initially I wasn't going to throw them a party. Honestly, they won't really remember, they don't really have friends, and all of our family lives hundreds of miles away. But, then I realized that we have great friends, that might as well be called family, around here. So I need some ideas.

Eric will have the day off, and I'll have the day off before. I'm still debating whether or not I want to make a cake, or just order one. I figure, either way, giving each boy their own cupcake will be the way to go! Also, a friend brought up a good point...don't go over board on their first birthday, or I'll be trying to out do it every year after :o)

So, any ideas???

I agree with your friend. I always see these ridiculously large celebrity birthdays for one year olds and it's crazy!

I think a nice small celebration with some friends and family is great!

They are so cute! It goes by WAY too fast! We just did one in our backyard..but their bdays are in Aug(the 3rd and 5th). Just some friends and family will be more fun than those cuties can handle!

They are little boys now!!! I cannot believe they will be ONE!!!
The First BDay is a big one, but they tire out so easily...

BBQ. Hotdogs and hamburgers are easy enough. :) Cake and ice cream for dessert. Easy peasy! :) It's what we do and it's pretty stress free.

Having been a Swamp Ranger for a few years now, and looking at MY 6th RTB Ranger family; I can say: "Don't ever think a Ranger Wife doesn't have "family" at the duty station."
