After seeing Confessions of a Shopaholic in the theater, and loving it, I knew I wanted to read the book. Everyone is always saying that movie adaptations never do the books any justice so I bought the book a while ago and finally found the time to read it on my flights to and from Missouri.
I wasn't able to finish it solely on the flights, but found some time today since it was raining & I couldn't possibly rake leaves in the rain ;o)
So, all in all, it was funny but hard to relate to. It takes place in London, and her massive addiction to shopping is all related to her debt, in British pounds...do you see my dilemma? And, I really enjoyed the relationships between her friends, family, and love interest more as it was portrayed in the movie rather than the book.
It wasn't a bad read, but I actually liked the movie better.

I'll have to put this movie in my Netflix queue. Thanks for sharing!
I have never heard of the book or the movie. I guess I better check them out!!
Planning on watching this one this weekend! That is if I can get rid of all the guys around here!
There are actually a lot of movies I like better!
Love movie versions for the most part. This one is on my B-Day List which means it will be out a month and I can't rent it! Boo!!!LOL
I am usually one who reads the book first, then goes to the movie...and likes the book best...but in the case of Confessions of a Shopaholic...I loved the movie....the book did not do it for me. I almost did not go see the movie because of the book. How sad that would have been.
Me too! Hope all is well down there!
Honestly the movie didn't appeal to me when I saw the previews, and when my daughter Alex liked it, then I KNEW it wasn't for me, lol! I think maybe I'll read the book,....when I get through the million or so waiting to be read!
