I must come clean...I am a reality TV junkie. Don't get me wrong, I love normal television too, but I especially love watching people make a fool of themselves...and when they add in a special twist, it's too good for words.
I watched the premier for "True Beauty" last night, and it did not disappoint. They gathered 5 men & 5 women and told them they were competing for the most beautiful person in America...when in reality they are being judged on their inner beauty as well. They give them announced challenges, but also tests of character. In the episode last night, when each contestant was waiting alone in an exam room, they left every one's files out as bait to see how would look...and the final test, to see who got kicked off, was seeing how they would react to a person trying to open a door carrying 2 trays of coffee.
The girl who got kicked off looked at the files when she was in the doctors office and walked around the person trying to open the door to let herself in, and let the door close behind her. She, of course, freaked out when she found out why they kicked her off and insisted she was an amazing person & her heart was filled with love....mmmm...
I am not sure if I will continue to watch the show, and all the inevitable cat fights that will ensue, but it is interesting to see how people behave when they think no one is watching ;o)

I wanted to watch this show SO bad but my husband did not. He had just gotten home from work so I felt like I shouldn't subject him to another of my Reality TV shows that he hates!!
Jillene, this is why I think our DVR has saved our marriage! I have shows he hates and vice versa...and since our schedules can be so random, there is always alone time to watch my favs!! Or, what normally happens, he will catch up on his shows while I am studying or blogging!
LOVE me some reality TV!!! And I agree DVR is the best.. I get to watch it when I want too... without all the boys in the house groaning!
I'll have to look for this new one!
"Keeping up with the Kardashians" is my all time FAVE!
Marie:)
Hahaha! I'm so glad you posted about that show. I found it last night and watched it while Que was snowblowing the church sidewalks. (lol)
I LOVED how some were like "you can't measure beauty"... Um, I think you can't say that when you've entered yourself in a BEAUTY CONTEST.
My husband and I both watched it last night, due to shere curiosity and couldn't belive how interesting the whole concept of the show is. We will probibly watch it the whole way through, or at least I will since he has duty days and mini deployments and those sometimes happen on Mondays. But it is a really interesting question about what real beauty is.
Okay, I've gotta see this show.
Sadly, I missed this show and we have no Tivo or DVR here so *sniff*. I would totally watch this.
I was too busy watching The Bachelor last night. But I need to start recording this. You cannot miss The Rock of Love Bus.
I saw the previews and thought it looked interesting. It will have to be a DVR show because there is NO WAY my husband will watch this with me. Thanks for the recap.
I recorded this last night on my boring old vcr (no dvr makes me sad). I watched it today while ironing. Yeah, I know, doing something responsible while watching trashy reality tv kind of defeats the purpose, but oh well. I thought it was really interesting too! And I hope the girl who didn't get kicked off this week gets kicked off next week because BOY, is she annoying!
Hmm. Sounds interesting. I'll catch the inevitable end of season marathon. :D
Really? You're reality tv addicted? Me too! I saw that show and I was glad to see her go. Did you also watch the Bachelor? I will watch any and all reality.
I MISSED this, man it sounds funny! I have seen commercials and do the REST of them now know, or was she dismissed in secret, I HOPE!!!
