Why do we always want the bad boy?

Okay ladies, I know it is hard to pay attention with His Hotness so close to the words...but try!

I have just finished reading Twilight, even with the warning of Kristina, but I kind of liked it. Am I going to wait in line over night to get tickets to see the movie?? NO...but I thought it was a fun read. But, it got me thinking (hence the title), why do girls always want the bad boys? Take the fine specimen of a man to my left. He almost always plays the bad guy in movies, but wow, hotness! Don't worry, I am not obsessed, just admiring some of the Lord's finest work ;-)

In Twilight, I kind of wanted to smack Bella around a little for being so whiny, and Edward for putting up with it. And, he tells her over and over, that he is no good for her, she can get hurt...but she can't stay away.

I put a pic of my boy Vin on here instead of the kid that is playing the movie version of Twilight b/c I don't think the actor is cute at all...and I needed to prove my point. (yeah, that is a good excuse!)

Am I the only one that has ever pursued a guy I knew was bad for me, and completely ignored everything people were telling me, and what I was seeing for myself (this is in NO WAY related to my Sexy beast!)??

Do we really think we can change them? Do we want to change ourselves just to be with them?

I also didn't think that the book should be geared towards teenage readers...yeah, a little too much sexual tension, in my opinion, for that target age group.

I am going to continue to read the rest of the series...sorry Kristina...b/c I thought it was entertaining, and it is nice to have something to read that isn't related to Nursing, and the only other thing in my house is military war history books...or Halo (um, that would be a no).

Who else had read the series, and what did you think?

Mary, keep reading! That's fine!

They are what they are. Popcorn books. That I just couldn't really get into. I've only read the first two, so perhaps they get better.

You don't have to listen to everything I say. You really should, but you don't have to.

Kristina, I hope this one small act of defiance won't keep me out of the "I worship Kristina" club!! I put in my application weeks ago, but I hear the committee is having a hard time with all the thousands of applicants. Can you put in a good word for me?

I loved the first one. If you thought she was whiny in the first one, be prepared for even more whininess in the second one. I couldn't take it. I have yet to finish the series. I personally think she shoulda wrapped it up in 2 books. But that's just me. :)

I have a really long Twilight post on my blog, but don't read it because it will give away the plot for the rest of the books.

I tried to read Twilight but I couldn't get through the 1st book. (So I looked up the plot lines on wikipedia.) LOL!

I haven't read any of them, but they are all the rage here! I've heard the first 2 were good, and the 3rd was slow, but to keep going...

Yeah, I was a little annoyed that they were advirtised in the Children's Book of the Month Club flyer that we get for the kids. WHAT?! I'm glad to hear your opinion about it Merla!

I haven't read them yet, but I am downloading (trying to anyway) the first book. My Mom and both sisters LOVED them! All 4 of them Mary, and I even heard the ending from my Mom, totally cool!
I love "Cedric Diggory" and the actor who played him and now Edward. Hot! I don't like Vi Diesel...Paul Walker...yessssss. I am so ALL over the movie! I also LOVE Kristin Stewart!

I'll see if I can process your application a bit faster. Money always helps.

I'm okay with them. I liked the first one. if you think bella is whiney/annoying now... she gets worse.

I read them all and i think the third was my favorite. By the time the 4th book ended, I wasn't too excited to see the movie anymore. Both Bella and Edward are annoying but somehow she changes it around where I am happy with how the series ends... but I lost the love for the series.

And I am so glad I didn't marry my bad boy but I definitely dated him longer then I should have.
